About me

  • I offer face to face tuition for children aged 7-11 who have difficulties with literacy, with or without a diagnosis of dyslexia.
  • I have a level 5 Diploma in teaching learners with Dyslexia/SpLDs and I am a member of the British Dyslexia Association.
  • I have extensive experience of working with children with a range of difficulties and needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language and literacy difficulties.

My approach

  • In my lessons children will develop their skills in phonics, accurate and fluent reading, spelling and phonological awareness. I also teach handwriting, creative writing and reading comprehension.
  • I follow a multisensory, structured and cumulative dyslexia literacy teaching programme, and adapt my practice with input from other sources.
  • I use a range of fun kinesthetics activities, including movement and play, drawing, games and digital based activities.
  • Playing a game to teach a new word to a dyslexic child
  • The first few sessions with a new student involve an informal assessment process to identify individual strengths and difficulties. The results from the assessment are used to create a tailor-made programme that addresses the specific needs of each child, utilising their individual interests and talents.
  • At the heart of all my teaching is the nurturing of the child’s self- esteem and confidence in their abilities.
  • I teach mainly at my home in Haringey, London N8, and in some circumstances at the student’s school.

Testimonials

  • Rinat has made a big difference to our daughter's mental health and her dyslexia. When we came to Rinat our daughter was struggling, she was very oppositional at home and withdrawn at school. Rinat was able to build a trusting relationship with our daughter and make her feel safe enough to engage with learning. Rinat's lessons are fun, accessible and my daughter has made marked progress which has helped restore her confidence.
