About me

A specialist teacher who meets your child's individual needs

I offer one-to-one, multisensory tuition for children aged 7–11 who have difficulties with literacy or maths - with or without a diagnosis.

I have extensive experience of working with children with a range of difficulties and needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language, numeracy and literacy difficulties.

I hold a Level 5 Diploma in teaching learners with dyslexia/SpLDs and a Level 5 Diploma in teaching learners with dyscalculia and maths learning difficulties. I am a member of the British Dyslexia Association.

My approach

Structured teaching that feels like play

a

Every skill, step by step

Literacy lessons build phonics skills, accurate and fluent reading, spelling and phonological awareness. I also focus on handwriting, creative writing and reading comprehension.

b

Multisensory and structured

I follow a multisensory, structured and cumulative dyslexia literacy teaching programme, and adapt my practice with input from other sources.

c

Learning through play

I use a range of fun kinesthetic activities, including movement and play, drawing, games and digital-based activities to ensure new skills stick.

d

A programme made for your child

The first few sessions are an informal assessment of strengths and difficulties. The results shape a tailor-made programme built around your child's interests and talents.

  • A child building the word 'book' with magnetic letters under a rainbow alphabet arc
    Building words with magnetic letters
  • The word 'little' spelled in green modelling clay on a whiteboard
Spelling tricky words using putty and drawings
  • A child standing in one of three lettered hoops during a movement game
Movement games for sounds and spellings

“At the heart of all my teaching is the nurturing of each child's self-esteem and confidence in their abilities.”

Where we meet

Lessons in Haringey, London N8

I teach mainly at my home in Haringey, London N8, and in some circumstances at the student's school.

Testimonials

What parents and children say

  • Rinat has made a big difference to our daughter's mental health and her dyslexia. When we came to Rinat our daughter was struggling, she was very oppositional at home and withdrawn at school. Rinat was able to build a trusting relationship with our daughter and make her feel safe enough to engage with learning. Rinat's lessons are fun, accessible and my daughter has made marked progress which has helped restore her confidence.
